When you think of a city, the word beautiful usually isn’t the first thing that comes to mind. Good urban photography can turn a gross city into a breathtaking image, and here are 70 examples of images that do just that. All these images are extremely colorful and very dramatic. You will notice many trends throughout the examples, such as use of HDR and images using reflections. Also, you will see that many of these images are taking at night or dawn, because the light from the buildings are brought out.
The following are 70 stunning cityscape and urban photographs that capture the beauty of the city. If you enjoy this post, give it a Digg and Stumble, or leave a quick comment.

Spectacular! There are some great shots in here.
It’s a shame there’s so much HDR in there. It really spoils the lineup of photos. Why anyone wants to make their pictures technicolor yawns is beyond me.
Great collection of cityscapes, thanks for posting it!
It’s more like 30-40 stunning pics after you get rid of the horrid HDR shots. Generally, the compositions are a good teaching aide and the post processing techniques of the non Hideous Digital Regurgitation pics are very interesting.
Those are some gussied up images alright. LIke so many things, you have to appreciate the work and skill that went into making them, if not their overall aesthetic.
beautiful photos. If cities all looked like this, i don’t think we would call them “gross” anymore. I love the concept of making gross look beautiful. Thanks.
All so beautiful…you’ve done an excellent job finding these!

Mark…
These are breathtaking! It makes me want to be everywhere at the same time!
So now you’ve done it! You’ve inspired me beyond my passion’s control!
Really great montage…thank you!:~)
This ain’t photography… its all Photoshopped HDR…
If u consider this photography, then u need to have ur brain checked….
I wanted to thank you for this great read!! I definitely enjoying every little bit of it.I have you bookmarked to check out new stuff you post.
Photography is the art of “capturing light” not editing it. Most of these shots are spectacular composition, I would love to see what actually came out of the camera. It’s a shame that with digital photography, we feel we have to enhance so much.
great photos though most of them were overdone in photoshop
but hey, i learnt a lot from them
Hello,
One of these pictures overlooking the city from up high looks like it was make from the computer. Im looking to get a picture I can print of good quality at 2X3 meters. I think the only way I can get such a picture is from someone who either done it in auto cad or a vector file that looks like a real city. What Im trying to do it create a fake window and frame with large icture inside so when looking at it you feel like you looking out in the city night. Can anyone help me get such a large picture? Thanks in advance
Incredible views. These HDR photos are truly impressive and hold high quality. Thanks for sharing the collection.
You know, I hate it when people have a problem with HDR. You know, photography is an art, and just like painting and drawing, there are many different forms and tools that artists use. Just because you don’t use it, understand it, know how to do it, or whatever the reason may be, doesn’t give you the right to demean people who do use all the tools available to us in this digital age. Perhaps you just aren’t happy at the thought that anyone with a camera is now your competition, either way, its just not right. I think these photos are amazing, the composition in most of them are awe inspiring, not to mention the technical execution. Kudos to everyone with a photo on this page.
